WC T20 & the Boiled Eggs

Simba and his ball

Unfortunately not a cricket or a golf ball! May have joined him inspired by the World Cup (WC) T20 and the PGA Championdhip presently in full swing! Let him alone to try out his skills.

Tired he took a breather on the deck. I followed him.

And as always admired the view from the deck.

Apologies for the diversion. Get carried away when Simba is around! He is a darling!

Baqar, my son was on his way to his office when the first wicket fell.

Everyday I have a boiled egg for my late breakfast. On Pooja beti’s suugestion I put three eggs in the water filled steel bowel and settled it on the electric stove. Moved the indicator to medium heating and returned to watch the TV.

Three wickets were down. Baqar sent a message on whatsapp “USA giving good fight against Pakistan!! I think the Pakistan team will have to take asylum in US if they lose!”

My reply to him”Biden has banned Asylum only a few days back!”

Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and Pooja, not a regular cricket match observer, joined me. The match certainly kept drawing our attention and interest beyond our expectations! We stuck to our seat with eyes glued to the TV until the last super over ball! What a match!

I kept reflecting on the one handed catch held in 0.78 secs. Yes catches do win matches.

With stupecation and wonder I got up to fetch my breakfast. My eyes fell at the bowl heating up on the stove. To my horror and agony, the water had completely dried and the albumen, the white part of the egg lay spread from the cracked eggs! So much for my breakfast!

I committed to Pooja that in future I would stand next to the stove as the eggs boil.

As the famous hindi words are bandied out ‘Kehne mein kya rakha hai!’ Two days later the same predicament faced me! Cracked eggs with the albumin spread all over in the bowel!

This time, the absorbing and entertaining T20 match was the one between Afghanistan vs New Zeland that held my attention at the cost of my eggs1

I have accepted the verdict doled out by Pooja. To avoid any possible fire risks I have been banned to go anywhere near the stove.

However I too have made a firm decision and stated it in the video.

Glad to observe Sabila, my daughter and Jyothi too pitching in for me.

Simba with his loving friend Ayaan! Masha Allah!
