A Day in New York City

To spend some time at the statue of Liberty was the main purpose of the visit for my grandson Eshan, presently on his internship program from College. He drove his Tesla car for two and half hours, from Delaware to New York. This was his first rather long drive on the Highway and on arrival he received a big round of applause from his dad Baqar, mom Pooja, little brother Ayaan and a big hug from me. More about Liberty statue later.

We halted in front of the National Indian Musuem and waited for the arrival of my daughter Sabila and her son Kazim who were driving down from Boston. The vege rolls were very relishing that I ate for lunch from the Indian Biryani House

Watched the peaceful street processions with music et all

With the arrival of Sabila and Kazim, we took the ferry to the Liberty Statue
Arrived at the location.

Why not?

On popular demand took the subway to Times Square. The Murals along the walls were eye pleasing, innovative and fascinating.

Like most I too am fascinated by the Times Square, which is vibrant, colorful, with never ending stream of visitors from all over the world

A respite for a while.

The protestors held the banner at the doorstep of the New York Police Department Station, Times Square. They stood there, however, the police ignored them and passerby’s casually glanced at the banner, a reflection of their maturity and tolerance.

For dinner the popular choice was Pizzas, this resturant served only pizzas of many flavor and spices.

Not at all complaining; walked 12896 steps today.

I joined Sabila and we left for Boston at 10.15 pm. Sabila was at the wheels of her Tesla car for the three and half hour drive. For most, the road was lonely and I saw 92 mph on the dashboard. Bells were ringing in my mind and Sabila heard them. For the the rest of the journey the speed limit was followed. Go for electric cars folks. According to Sabila the cost of this journey by Tesla is nearly 60% cheaper than by her BMW. The Boston weather is not so hot!
