I love choclates and am fortunate that I have no dearth of suppliers, who out of their sweet concern source them to me regularly. I recieve them from my brothers and sister in India and my Betis (daughters) from countries they were born. Recently Tehmina Beti, my son Jafar’s wife, fetched it from Hawai, where she celebrated her birtday with her friends. The one shown in the picture above is gifted to me here in Seattle by her mother ‘Bibijan.’ She is on a short visit. You may notice it is made in Norway, the birth place of Tehmina and her daughter Yameena. Tehmina has confirmed that when she returns from her vacations in end July she will bring choclate from Belgium, the most delicious, surpassing others in taste and quality. Wish you too enjoy your choclates!
Now what is “Syttende Mai?” It is Norwegian National Day, celebrated on the 17th of May every year; not only is it of great historic significance to Norwegians, it’s also symbolically known as the Children’s Day; with children being the future of the nation. Tehmina calls it ‘Kids Day.’
We attended the function held at Ballad, 30 minutes drive from our residence. By 1910, more than 7,000 Norwegians lived and worked in the region. They lived all over King County but especially in Ballard, and worked as loggers, farmers, engineers, entrepreneurs, boat builders, and fishermen. Today the city is a developed and buzzing metropolis.
Making ourselves comfortable, we watched the pageant . Sharing our experience with you.
Wanted to ask many, however the noise and the apectacle prevented me.

Shameem, Usha and I are both diabetic. We experience so many complications of diabetes. One sure cause is sweets or sugar.
it msy be cruel of me to suggest you give up sugar. Chocolates are sugar rich. It’s a suggestion. You are indeed lucky that you do not have diabetes. But at our age we could go in for natural foods and in any case avoid sugar

Many thanks Naidu, for your kind concern. I take a small piece of choclate every other day, mainly after a nice meal. It melts in my mouth and sweetens my taste and other senses. I am doing this for a long time. I do not take sugar in any form; my tea too is sugarless!
I read somewhere that our ancestors considered choclate as a medicine!!
My prayers are forever for Usha and you; may the Lord God bless you with fine healthy long life.
