Meher Academy – A begining

Meher Academy, started two years back is dedicated to my late mother Mehtun Nisa Begum. It is located in Kichaucha Sharif village which is 40 kms from Azamgarh in Eastern UP.
My ancestral village home where my mother used to stay very often is presently converted into classrooms for the students. Presently the school is up to class V, CBSE syllabus.
I am here in Kichaucha to finalize contracts with the builders for a school building. Hopefully by end of the year additional classrooms with all other facilities will come up.
The school is meant for financially weak sections of the village population. The fees structure has been kept to the minimum ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 150 per month. In case of more than one child from a family, the fees for only one child is charged. There are those, whom we consider are unable to pay the fees, we give free education to their children.
